Overview

Description

Canadian Tire hired us to create a responsive e-commerce website for them. They wanted to expand from a brick and mortar retailer into digital space.

Problems

Vehicle owners usually have to buy a new set of tires maybe once every two years, but  don’t always know their vehicle’s wheel and tire fitment size. In addition, Canadian Tire’s legacy website served as a dumping ground for ads and their weekly flyer.

Solution

The tire-finder tool allows Canadian Tire users to select wheels and tires for their vehicles even if they don’t know their tire dimensions by inserting their car type, year, make, and model., They can also save the vehicle settings for future use.

Canadian Tire’s old website displayed a lot of ads paid for by sponsors. Instead of displaying ads in an iFrame, we incorporated the them in the product feed to mimic the look of the weekly flyer.

Users can find more information (specs, photos, etc.) about a wheel or tire on the product detail page. Users can also view the product on the vehicle.

The view on vehicle tool will access users’ saved vehicles and automatically display the desired product on the default vehicle. Below they can see the full product specs based on tests conducted by a Canadian Tire expert.
